Up for Sale is an Antique Griswold No.817 Cast Iron Pot with Wood Handle. Slant Letter Griswold which will put this in the 1910-1920 Range for manufacturing. This pot is also marked with a large 8 above the Griswold Logo. This particular base was made for a wood or coal Kitchen Cook Stove as it would snug and receive direct heat once placed into the hole after removing the iron plate. No holes or cracks but will have surface rust throughout and several areas of rust flaking, see photos. The wood handle is in wonderful condition and it lifts up and down on one side only as photos will show. I applied water to the base for a better photo of the Griswold markings, hard to see otherwise. 8 1/2"H and base is 7" diameter and 15/16"H, top diameter 10 5/8".
